Health Information and Resources

At Gretna Public Schools, the health and safety of our students, students’ families and staff is our priority.

We take this responsibility seriously. District leaders have been working to monitor the national and international developments related to COVID-19. We are in contact with local health officials and experts. We are monitoring local and national guidance for schools. We continue to adjust our plans as new information is released.

What is COVID-19?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by Coronavirus (COVID-19). The CDC is following this rapidly evolving health situation. On January 31, 2020, the United States declared a public health emergency. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic.
