Cedar Hollow Families:

We are officially in the home stretch of the 2025-2026 school year! While we still have one full week of learning and fun ahead of us, this past week was a whirlwind of celebration and emotion as we honored our 5th-graders and celebrated our spring Unified Sports event.

5th Grade Night of Memories

Our 5th graders are preparing for their next big adventure in middle school, and this week was all about celebrating their journey. We were thrilled to host 5th Grade Night of Memories.  With the help of Mrs. Smith, the students provided some wonderful throwback entertainment on Thursday night.

I want to share a special shout-out to all of our special area teachers, and the entire 5th Grade Team. The extra time and support you poured into this week truly showed our students how much they are valued.

Unified Baseball Event

On Wednesday, we brought students together to celebrate teamwork, friendship, and inclusion. It was a great reminder of what makes Cedar Hollow so special — students supporting one another, cheering each other on, and showing what it means to continue to build together, Brick by Brick!  Thanks to the staff, students, and Cedar Hollow families for making inclusion a priority.  We are so lucky!

Fond Farewells

As the school year winds down, we also want to recognize some of our beloved staff members who will be moving on to new chapters. Please join me in wishing the best to:

  • Mrs. Paben: Miss Mallory will be staying home with her kiddos next year.  We wish her all the best!

  • Mrs. McMahon: She will be staying home with her little girl and starting to raise her young family.

  • Mrs. Timmerman: She will be transitioning to a new role with Gretna Public Schools as a Primary English Language Learners Teacher.

  • Mrs. Hardy: She is leaving to start the next chapter in life and looking forward to the next adventure.

  • Mrs. Fleer: Our school psychologist will also be transitioning to full time mom next year and staying home with her son.

We are so grateful for the impact each of these individuals has had on our school culture. They will be greatly missed!  We have hired some incredible people for next year and can't wait to add them to the amazing community at Cedar Hollow!

Looking Ahead:

  • Field Day: Field Day is currently scheduled for Wednesday, May 20th, and we warmly invite parents to join us for the outdoor festivities.  Please stay flexible with us; if the weather forecast looks unfavorable for Wednesday, there is a chance we will move Field Day to Thursday to ensure the best experience for our students.

  • All-School Picnic: Our school-wide picnic is also planned for May 20th.

    • A Note on the Picnic: While we love having parents join us for activities, we kindly ask that parents do not join us for the lunch portion of the day. We like to keep the picnic a special time for students and school personnel to bond.

  • LAST DAY DISMISSAL: 11:30

    • There will be a "walk out" for our 5th graders prior to dismissal at 11:10.  Specific information will be  emailed to 5th grade families.  If you have any questions please reach out.

Have a great weekend with your family!
