We're proud to announce our first "Guardian Glow" award recipients of the school year!
The Guardian Glow is a special recognition earned by classrooms that consistently Give Kindness, Practice Accountability, and Stay Safe. The best part? Classes must be nominated by a staff member outside their classroom who catches them shining bright!

Mrs. Thompson’s Class – Nominated by Mrs. Williams for working hard and staying focused during math time!
Mrs. Rudd’s Class – Nominated by Mrs. Glasshoff for staying safe, listening carefully, and following all directions during our first fire drill of the year!
Mrs. Dutkiewicz’s Class – Nominated by Mrs. Radicia for doing an incredible job following hallway expectations on their way to specials at the end of the day!

School Attendance Matters
A new school year is the perfect time to start strong when it comes to attendance! Being at school each day allows students to learn, stay connected, and make the most of their time at Gretna Middle School. We encourage students and families to make regular attendance a priority from day one. Every day matters, and we’re excited to work together to make attendance a great habit all year long!
Attendance Protocols:
5 Days Absent (in a quarter)- Phone Call Home
7 Days Absent- Attendance Letter
10 Days Absent- Phone Call Home
15 Days Absent- In-Person Meeting and Attendance Letter
20 Days Absent- In-Person Meeting & Attendance Plan
