Cedar Hollow Families:

We had a great week at Cedar Hollow. Hoping you and your family enjoyed the extended weekend. On Tuesday, teachers enjoyed a day of professional learning and time to collaborate with their team. I'm very thankful for their hard work and dedication to their students. Here are some other things happening at Cedar Hollow:

Guardian Glow Winners:

This week, Mrs. Michka's class earned a Guardian Glow! Mrs. Vacanti nominated them for practicing accountability while waiting patiently and quietly in the hallway to enter the library. Way to go Mrs. Michka's class, thanks for being ALL IN!

Field Trip Chaperones

Gretna Public Schools has adopted a new policy for field trip volunteers. If you are interested in serving as a chaperone for an elementary field trip this school year, you will need to complete the background check process. We are asking that those interested complete the form by Friday, September 24th. Please contact your child's teacher if you are interested.

Upcoming Dates/Events

  • September 14 - Author Visit: We are excited to welcome Justin Colon to Cedar Hollow to speak to our students.

  • September 15 -International Dot Day is coming up on September 15th. This global celebration is based on Peter H. Reynolds' book The Dot, which tells the story of a teacher who encourages a doubting student to trust her abilities by making a simple mark. (Wear clothing with dots if you have them)

  • September 15 - Book Fair Shopping Night (3:30-5:30)

  • September 15 - PTO Meeting

  • September 18 - JERSEY DAY in preparation for the PTO Tailgate (5-7 pm)

  • Setember 28-October 2 - HOLLOW HUSTLE SPIRIT WEEK (more information to come)

  • October 2 - Hollow Hustle Fun Run
