Gretna Public Schools held a districtwide Professional Development Day, bringing together educators from across the district for a full day of learning, collaboration, and professional growth.
Teachers participated in a wide range of breakout sessions covering topics such as instructional strategies, project-based and multi-modal learning, technology integration, artificial intelligence, classroom management, special education supports, curriculum planning, wellness, leadership, and effective communication. Sessions were led by Gretna Public Schools teachers and administrators, ESU consultants, and community partners, offering practical strategies educators can apply directly in their classrooms.
The day concluded with all staff gathering in the auditorium for a keynote presentation by nationally recognized speaker Stephen Mackey. Known for his work with schools across the country, Mackey shared an engaging message focused on building strong school culture, fostering meaningful relationships, resilience, and the lasting impact educators have on students. His presentation provided an inspiring close to a day centered on growth, reflection, and connection.
